The Washington State Housing Finance Commission is Operating at Full Capacity

Dear Partners,

Across the world, the COVID-19 outbreak is disrupting business and life in unprecedented ways. But we are happy to say that our homeownership programs and services have remained fully open for your business.

Lenders can and should continue to reserve loans and upload files as usual.

The Commission has had a robust telecommuting policy for years which allows employees to work remotely. We’ve successfully expanded this program and have been operating 100% remotely for the past two weeks with no interruption in service. Our file-review time remains at 24 hours or less from submission. All emails and phone calls are answered as if we were in the office.

We have also implemented new flexible rules for homebuyer education classes. For the time being, instructors can now use Zoom or another platform to teach their classes virtually instead of in person. We also negotiated a lower price for online homebuyer education through eHome America: these classes are now temporarily $25 instead of $50 per person. Learn more about these options here.

Thank you for participating in the Commission’s programs and for your flexibility as we respond to this unique situation while ensuring the safety of our employees and customers.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact Corinna Obar

With best wishes for your well-being,
The WSHFC Homeownership Team
