Update on Borrowers with DACA Status

Due to Fannie Mae providing additional guidance for mortgages to borrowers under DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) status, the Commission is pleased to announce it will now accept DACA status borrowers on the Home Advantage and House Key Fannie Mae HFA Preferred products. The Commission will not allow DACA status borrowers for government loans and Freddie Mac HFA Advantage loans.

The Non-Permanent Qualified Requirements Guide and Section 3 of the Home Advantage and House Key manuals have been updated to reflect the above.

The lender is responsible for documenting the lender delivery package sent to IHFA with acceptable documentaion of borrowers eligibility per Fannie Mae's Selling Guide. Borrowers must be current in his/her status. If the documentation provided is unacceptable the loan will be subject to repurchase by the lender.

If you have additional questions, please email Corinna.Obar@wshfc.org
