The Commission's Multifamily Housing collaboration across the healthcare, housing, and homelessness sectors.
The Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH), a national champion for supportive housing, and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission (WSHFC), have partnered to provide leadership and investment to strengthen health outcomes for residents of supportive housing.
This project convened leaders and experts in both fields, creating innovative, equitable, effective responses to community housing, health, and social service needs.

H3C Purpose, Work, and Mission
- We promote collaboration among healthcare, housing, and homeless sectors to drive innovative responses to the health, housing, and equitable needs in communities.
- We facilitate statewide for the sharing of experiences and the development of new tools, guidelines, models of care and other resources to support developers and practitioners in the health and housing sectors.
- We support the development of healthcare and housing financed projects.
Our Timeline
- February and March 2023: Assess intersections and gaps between health care and housing for people with extremely low incomes at the person, project, and system levels by interviewing people with lived experiences, analyzing up to six project-level health and housing partnerships.
- May 2023: Convene senior leaders and report on strengths, gaps, examples from other states, recommendations, and solicit feedback on recommendations and action steps.
- June 2023: Based on feedback from the convening, develop a plan to further the intersection of health and housing investments including accountability mechanisms that ensure racial equity.
- September 2023: Conduct a listening session in the Tri-Cities area, with attendees from the housing development, housing operations, social services, and health care worlds.
